Statistical Car Data (SCD)

SCD is an online platform, developed by DATA E, to perform analysis on data from car registration offices.

The available information is updated every month, from the car registration offices data. This includes the statistical data of the property registrations for new and used light vehicles.

SCD allows the user to select the analysis period (in months), the variables to use in row and column, and apply filters on all available variables.

The type of data available in property records are:

• New vehicles
  • Primary data
  • Processed data
• Used vehicles
  • Primary data

The processed data includes the identification and exclusion of the RAC data and the geographic redistribution of the ALD/AOV data. (*)

The variables available in the primary data for new and used vehicles are:

• Vehicle type (Passenger/Commercial)
• Brand
• Model
• Segment
• Engine displacement
• Fuel
• Vehicle Year
• Owner type (Private/Company)
• Registration Month
• District
• County
• Postal Code (4 digits)

The variables available in the processed data, for new vehicles are:

• Vehicle type (Passenger/Commercial)
• Brand
• Model
• Segment
• Registration Month
• District
• County
• Postal Code (4 digits)

The analyzes can be saved in templates, which the user can reuse whenever he wants.

The produced data is presented in cross tables, with the variables selected in  row and column, with absolute values and vertical and horizontal percentages. Tables can be exported to Excel files.

Depending on the selected variables, bar, column, line or pie charts may be displayed.

SCD includes a GIS (Geographic Information System) module. If a geographic variable is selected for the rows, the distribution of the data can be viewed on the map of Portugal.
